I went to a medical seminar for practioners and sure enough, this is confirmed.  General anesthesia is a switch for LBD.  Since then we try to use a spinal block for us since we learned this (she did a hip surgery with this).  Also learned that the LBDA.org people will talk directly to the anesthetist to try to explain to them what they should do and should not do.

But yes.  If your loved one developed LBD symptoms after a major surgery, it was probably already in the brain but according to research, it’s a good probability that general anesthesia is what flipped the switch on.  Contact lbda.org for more information on this.
